LAHORE: Kidnappings continued to be on the rise in the Punjab’s provincial capital as a thirteen-year-old boy went missing on Tuesday.
According to details, 13-year-old Aman Qamar did not return home after he went out on his motorcycle on Tuesday evening. After news of him being missing spread, relatives and friends of the boy gathered at his residence and started searching for him around the vicinity. However, the boy could not be found.
Aman Qamar’s relatives registered a missing person’s report in Samanabad police station for his recovery. Kidnappings have been on the rise in Lahore, so much so that the Supreme Court took notice of the incident.
A three-year-old girl was also found missing from Anarkali area on Monday. The girl, Jannat Hayat, had gone shopping with her father, police said. A wave of anxiety has gripped the region following kidnapping of 600 children from Lahore and other parts of Punjab within a short span of time.
