ISLAMABAD: One day after the Quetta blast shocked the country, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif vowed on Tuesday, to carry on Operation Zarb-e-Azb and the National Action Plan (NAP) against militants.
The prime minister held a meeting with Awami National Party’s (ANP) lawmaker Ghulam Ahmad Bilour to talk about the matters concerning the state as well as political issues of the country. After his meeting, PM Nawaz said that the Quetta blast was an indication of the hate that the militants harboured towards every institution of the state.
“Terrorists are attacking the pillars of the state,” PM Nawaz said. “They are trying to impose old, outdated ideologies on the state and society,” he added.
He also promised that the NAP and Operation Zarb-e-Azb would continue against the militants at all costs. He said that the country was on the path to economic progress and political stability.
The Quetta suicide bomb blast on Monday took the lives of 72 people and injured scores of others. The suicide bomber struck Quetta Civil Hospital as the body of slain Balochistan Bar Association president Anwar Kasi was brought to the hospital.
Mostly lawyers and two cameramen were killed in the ghastly attack.
