ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had issued a schedule to hold by-elections in PP-232 in Vehari-I on July 14.
According to ECP spokesman, the nomination papers will be filed on June 9 and 10, whereas the verification process will be completed by June 14. The candidates can file their appeals to the tribunals against the decisions of the returning officers till June 16 and tribunals would decide on their appeals till June 20, he said. The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until June 22 and on the next day the final list of candidates will be published, he said.
It may be mentioned here that the seat was vacated due to the disqualification of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) parliamentarian Yousaf Kaseelia on the orders of Supreme Court.
