LAHORE: The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) started an anti-polio drive in all the union councils of the nine towns on Friday.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Captain (r) Muhammad Usman along with officials of the Health Department inaugurated the drive by vaccinating children at Mian Munshi District Hospital.
The DCO issued instructions to the administrators of towns to personally monitor the working of polio teams in their respective areas. After three days, two more days would be fixed for those children who will remain unattended during the regular campaign.
During the drive, more than 1,600,000 children will be vaccinated for which the CDGL has formed 4,300 teams. The drive would conclude on September 28.
